Privacy policy

Timo — Days Counter & Reminder, for Android (package app.philtre.timo).
Effective 20 October 2026.

The short version

  • Timo has no account and no sign-up.
  • Everything you add stays on your phone. We don’t collect, receive, sell or share any of it.
  • Timo doesn’t have permission to use the internet, so it can’t send your data anywhere.
  • Timo’s data is left out of Android cloud backup.

Who we are

Timo is an Android app made by an independent developer. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer of Timo, and “you” means anyone who uses the app. This policy covers the Timo app and this website.

What Timo keeps on your phone

To do its job, Timo saves the following in its private storage on your phone. Other apps can’t read it, and none of it is sent to us.

Photos

Permissions

Timo asks for these permissions when you first save a reminder, never when you open the app:

Notifications (Android 13 and newer)
To show your reminders. If you turn this off, your events still count; you just won’t be reminded.
Alarms & reminders (Android 12 and newer)
So reminders arrive at the exact time you chose. Without it, a reminder may arrive a few minutes late.

Timo also uses these, which Android grants without asking:

Run at startup
Android clears scheduled reminders when the phone restarts. This lets Timo set them again.
Background work
Some Android components Timo is built on declare standard permissions for background work, such as briefly keeping the phone awake while a widget updates. They don’t give Timo access to your data or to the internet.

What we collect

Nothing. Timo has no servers and no account system. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools, doesn’t use your advertising ID, and doesn’t track you across apps or websites. We don’t sell or share any information, because we don’t have any.

This website doesn’t use cookies or analytics either. It’s hosted on GitHub Pages, and loads the Lexend font from Google Fonts. Like any web host, GitHub may log technical details such as your IP address when you visit; see the GitHub Privacy Statement and Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Google Play and Android

When you download or update Timo, Google Play handles that under Google’s Privacy Policy, not ours.

If you’ve chosen in your Android settings to share usage and diagnostics data, Google may give us anonymous, combined crash and performance reports through the Google Play Console. These don’t include your events or photos, and we use them only to fix problems in the app.

Backup and new phones

Timo’s data is left out of Android cloud backup, so it isn’t copied to Google Drive or any other cloud service.

When you set up a new phone with a cable or a direct phone-to-phone transfer, Android may copy Timo’s data straight across. It doesn’t pass through any cloud.

Because there’s no cloud copy, uninstalling Timo, clearing its storage or losing your phone deletes your events, and we can’t recover them.

Deleting your data

We hold no copy of your data, so there’s nothing for us to delete on our side.

Children

Timo isn’t directed at children under 13. It doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

Future versions of Timo may add optional features that need the internet, such as sharing anonymous usage data during a beta, or an account for sharing dates with family. Before any feature like that is released, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and the app will explain the feature before you use it.
